Bridge Data Centres Expands in Sedenak With A New RM2.5 Billion Data Centre

SEDENAK, December 2 – Bridge Data Centres (BDC), one of the region’s key data centre service providers headquartered in Singapore has announced the construction of its fourth hyperscale data centre (MY06) and the largest of its kind, at Kulai Iskandar Data Exchange (KIDEX) in Sedenak, Johor, in Malaysia.

This will involve an investment value of RM2.5 billion over the next 5 years. A subsidiary of Chindata Group, BDC has set Phase 1 of the project to be completed by end of 2022 with Phase 2 expected to be in completion shortly thereafter.

BDC has 3 data centers in Malaysia with two in Cyberjaya and one in Bukit Jalil. The Johor campus will operate at a combined capacity of 100 MW IT load and will be strategically located on 40 acres of land area within the KIDEX Sedenak, the jewel component of the larger 7,290 acres of the Sedenak Technology Valley (STV).

By selecting to fortify its presence in Malaysia through KIDEX, BDC demonstrates a strong testimony and confidence in the country and in KIDEX’s position to become a regional data centre hub.

In accordance with the Malaysian Government’s nationwide aspiration to achieve 50 percent of the cloud adoption through cloud data centres for 5G adoption by 2024, BDC is committed to invest in the growing data centre economy that is expected to grow significantly in this region.
