Kulai Industrial Park & KIDEX expected to attract Industry 4.0 players

SEDENAK, June 21 -- TPM Technopark Sdn Bhd, representing Johor Corporation (JCorp), together with its investment partners: the Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) and Keppel DC, has the honor to receive the visit of YB Dato’ Sri Mustapa bin Mohamed, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) at Kulai Industrial Park site office.

During his visit, the YB Minister was briefed by En. Mohamad Salleh Mohamad Yusof, Vice President & Chief Executive Industrial Development Division of JCorp, on the progress and promising future development plans of the 7,290 acres Kulai Industrial Park.

The Kulai Industrial Park is focusing to attract Industry 4.0 players, especially those from high technology and high value-added industries such as Robotics, Electronics & Electrical, Halal Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Logistics & Warehousing.
The industrial park is also home to the 745 acres Kulai Iskandar Data Exchange (KIDEX) which is set to be the second new data hub in Malaysia after Cyberjaya in Selangor. KIDEX will house Data Centers, Cloud Computing & Hyperscale companies and serve as a key enabler to attract Industry 4.0 players to the Kulai Industrial Park. KIDEX is expected to generate RM17 billion (USD4 billion) in investment value and 8,750 jobs in the state of Johor.

Investors at the Kulai Industrial Park and KIDEX will be able to promote sustainable development through the use of renewable energy, generated by the planned 200 acres of Solar Farm and the building of a Co-Generation Plant within the industrial park. Other park amenities announced are the integration of High-Level Security, Data Centre Park Manager & Smart Community management systems.

During the visit, YB Minister was accompanied by officials from the Economic Planning Unit and has received briefings by IRDA, MDEC and Keppel DC before making way to visit the Keppel DC data center construction site.
